Will you be my Valentino?

13 Oct

Few things make me really jump out of my seat. Fashionably speaking.

And this time, it was Valentino.

At the Paris Fashion Week, Valentino’s SS 2012 collection was beyond ethereal. Typically, I’m not into those ultra feminine styles and silhouettes (think floral/lace dresses, chiffons and pastels). But this was something else. Maybe it was the elegant patterns so intricately woven, the gorgeous fabrics or those clean flowing lines. Whatever it is, I’m sold! =)

Here are some of my picks:

Princess Fédora, thank you.

So I have this thing for Fedora hats. I mean, who doesn’t? They look so chic!

But I have a problem. I don’t quite know how to wear them. :-/ I mean, how should I style my hair underneath the hat? Will I need to take the hat off when I’m indoors? And if I do, what do I do about the resulting “hat hair”?! Ugh.

So I turned to my trusted stylist – Google. :–D Here are some doable looks I found…

1.) This one is my favorite. Super easy and ultra-stylish. Notice how casual and unstructured her outfit is and then BAM! – she adds sleek accessories like the straw hat, those lust-worthy shoes and those shades. And how fuss-free is her hairdo! Here’s a look that’s actually achievable, right? (God! I love her style.)

Colors of India

24 Jul

As some of you may know, the Couture Fashion Week is currently on in India’s most fashionable city of Delhi. And from what I’ve seen so far, it is quite a show!

Rich textiles, authentic Indian handicrafts, beautiful mix of traditional and contemporary designs – the Delhi Couture week has much to offer. My favorite pick was from the designer duo of Ashima and Leena Singh. Check this gorgeous outfit out from their collection…So many things to like: the combination of silk, brocade and sheer fabrics, the muted bright colors with dull gold and the draping…magical!

Did you know? Ashima and Leena Singh are actually sisters-in-law that came together to build this brand, with Ashima leading the designs while Leena spearheads the marketing of the brand. Interesting business partners! :–)

No Shoes, No Service

28 Jun

And with these shoes, I’m sure to be served well. Ha! ;–)

Meet my purchase #2.

Nude body (Er, of the shoe), black heels, a beautiful arch and just the right pop of coral color. I also like the little zipper detail at the back. All the elements come together so well. And trust me on this one, these babies are way more comfortable than they might look.
